WHAT IS HIP BURSITIS

The Bursa is a small fluid-filled sac that sits on the outer area of your hip, between muscles, tendons and bones. When this sac becomes inflamed (causes listed below) it enlarges and rubs against the muscles and tendons that surround it, causing pain and discomfort. 

WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF HIP BURSITIS 

➡Hip pain, can be sharp or tender with radiating pain to adjoining areas

➡Pain can be worse when standing, climbing stairs, and walking or running

➡ Hip may feel hot to touch 

➡Trouble sleeping on the affected side

WHAT CAUSES HIP BURSITIS

➡Bursitis more commonly affects women than men.

➡Can be caused by hormonal changes i.e. menopause and pregnancy.

➡Overuse or inappropriate training can cause abnormal stress on the bursa, leading to inflammatory change.
