In some cases, these are difficult to avoid (such as an accident or injury) however, everyday habits can be a big determining factor in how well our spines handle stress.
During Spinal Health Week 2018, Dr Matthew is encouraging all our wonderful patients to be mindful and make changes to those everyday habits that can be harmful to the health of our spines. We can all make small changes toward better health.
Dr Matthew always recommends being proactive and making changes before any long term damage occurs, simply being more mindful of your posture during daily activities can make a huge difference to your health. Taking regular breaks is also encourage particularly if you sit at a computer all day. Also if you have a long commute to work, or spend your day in the car, incorporating regular stretching into your routine can help to keep you mobile.
